August 26th, 2009DiaryI love mushy love stories. This one is a must see, but it is sad. Even though there was sadness in the movie, there was hope, too. I like how there is room for a sequel to this one. The movies is shown in all kinds of flashbacks and flashforwards because of the time travel. Sometimes the time travel is shown and sometimes it isn’t. But I like how the story keeps moving forward, even with the shifting back and forth in time. The wife is the continuity throughout the movie, that’s why it’s called the Time Traveler’s Wife, instead of the Time Traveler. I truly enjoy going to the movies. And now it’s fun to share with the group as well.

August 23rd, 2009How's The Blog Going? She Told Me is another place to list articles and information about websites. The idea is to create backlinks to other sites so that more traffic will go there. I have ehow articles that are growing in popularity. This is another way to get the word out. I also have a blog Example of Resume which has an affiliate ad on it. the idea is to get people to go to the site and then buy the product by using free methods. This is what is mentioned in the Thirty Day Challenge. I’m having a hard time keeping up with all of the work involved in the challenge. I found I needed a break and was getting discouraged by some of the steps not working. Maybe it’s not the right time for me to do this sort of thing. Or maybe I just need to give it another try.

August 18th, 2009DiaryJulie & Julia was an interesting movie. It was two different stories intertwined together that took place in two different time periods. Both women had things in common which made it interesting switching back and forth between them. I didn’t like the part where Julia made a negative comment about what Julie was doing. But I suppose the two women were just acting in character and being true to themselves in real life.
GI Joe was a fun movie. Yes, a girl can like a guy flick. The movie had more of a James Bond feel to it than a military feel. I guess it was all the top secret forces that gave it that feel. There were also lots of gadgets that made it feel 007ish. Maybe that was the feeling they were going for. I think it made the movie slightly more entertaining to mix up the spy and combat styles a bit.
District 9 was an interesting look at discrimination. I had a hard time with the commentating on the sounds the baby alien pods were making while they died from the flames. I elt that made the man in charge look absolutely cruel. But then it made his transformation all that more interesting. Overall I liked the movie because it brought a fresh look to discrimination. I liked how the kid in the movie had an important role to play and made it easier for his dad to rescue them.
G Force was fun. I still like the kid movies. Some of them are done quite well and have content for the adults in the audience as well. I liked the twist in the end of who was actually running things.

August 18th, 2009DiaryI’ve been falling behind in everything lately. I was going to post something on this blog every single day and that just didn’t happen. I also fell behind in typing up my journal writing. I have a compilation of my writing that I add commentary to and have wondered about its similiarity to writing blogs. I guess I have a different idea of what I end up placing in my blog vs what I write about in my writing journal. Then there are my flash fiction stories that I write for my writing group. I’m trying to get those sent out to various magazines to get them published. I have about twenty five of them sitting out there waiting for responses. I have two rejections that haven’t been recorded yet. I wrote down the day they came in so I can keep up with the number of days it takes to get a response. I will catch up with that tomorrow.
I needed a break from the electronic world for a bit and went to see movies. I guess these days that is highly electronic, too, but not from my perspective. I just sit with popcorn and enjoy. I suppose I should post what I thought about the movies. I enjoyed them all. Mostly it was good to take a break.

August 14th, 2009DiaryI’m learning about publishing articles on other websites and linking back to the main site to build backlinks which help to get the site up higher in ranking in the search engines. This takes a lot of work. It takes a lot of writing of articles having to do with a selected key word phrase.
So far, I’ve posted four articles on other sites. I’ve received links from two of them so far. one is still being reviewed before being posted and another one was said to have too many links to a single site. So, I am learning as I go. My site has also received a few links from this blog. The site itself looks good. I’m finding it difficult to encorporate the key phrases because they don’t follow good grammar. So I cringe whenever I include them and keep on writing.
I accidentally hit on some keywords in my educational site and ended up ranking my math crossword puzzle page as number 4 in one of the search engines. That explains why that page gets so many hits each month. If I had searched for specific key words to use, I might have ended up with a totally different site. I like that I have a lot of content on my educationa site and would like to flesh out my example of resume site as well. I don’t like having not enough information on the sites.
Then there is this blog which I feel compelled to add to. This is just a diary posting to let people know what I am up to and I guess that is what a lot of blogs are about. I just also like to include helpful information as well. I was amazed when people started commenting on some of the things I have posted on this site. I guess it is because my site was already in the search engines before I started this blog and some of the traffic must be from that.
As you can see, I am still learning a lot about this thing called internet marketing and ranking in search engines. As I learn more, I will post more here.

August 11th, 2009How's The Blog Going?Traffic Bug is a tool to help get your webpage noticed. It is an automatic submission service that submits your website to Search Engines, Directories and RSS Directories. This will help build your website into the web that is already existing and allow more people to find you website.
If a website isn’t in the search engines and directories, then it won’t be found very easily. Adding more content on a regular basis to the website will help get it placed under more key words which makes it even more attractive to the search engines. An active website with regular posts helps make it a more robust entry into the directories and search engines.
Making the posts relavent and useful to others also helps get more traffic to come to it. If people like the posts, they will continue to come back to the site or even link to something they find relavent. So the more posts that are out there, the better chance there is of hitting on something that someone will want to link to from their own site or blog. Some people might even subscribe to the RSS feed if there is one available. New content makes that an ongoing way to let people know about your website.
In the first twenty four hours using Traffic Bug, my brand new site has been submitted to 3 directories, 139 search engines and it has 29 bookmarks. That’s pretty good work for twenty-four hours. It seems very worth the effort to enter the website into the directory.

August 10th, 2009How's The Blog Going?PayDotCom is a confusing set up. Both selling your own products and being an affiliate and selling other people’s products are all in the same account.
If you are planning to sell a product as an affiliate and earn commission, then here are the steps to be able to see your product and see a link for adding to your website.
- Sign up for an account at PayDotCom
- Once you have signed up for the account, then click on the Promote Products tab.
- Then click on From Marketplace.
- If you have already found a product in Market Samurai, then search for the title of that product, otherwise search or browse through the products to find one you want to promote.
- One you have a product listed on the screen, click on the Promote link under the listing. This will bring you to another screen where a URL is listed (you may have to scroll down to see it).
- Then click on the link called Create New Campaign. This will bring you to another screen where you can add a title and description for your campaign. Once you click on the submit button, you will be able to see the statistics and the URL for this product. This is how you can keep track of the clicks and sales through this program.
- Once this is done, then you can view your campaign any time by clicking on the Promote Product tab and then clicking on the As An Affiliate link right underneath the tabs.

August 10th, 2009Diary, How's The Blog Going?WordPress is a great program and I’m using it right now. I have also tried WordPress Direct through the Thirty Day Challenge. They also use a program called Market Samurai. All of this combines together to produce a great effect. I have a website up and running using Host Gator. Here is my thirty day challenge site.
That’s a lot of links for one paragraph. It is a very complex set up, but the training walks people through step by step. The main difference I have noticed between Word Press Word Press Direct is the easy of set up. The management still includes looking at Word Press directly, as in getting rid of an ad that wasn’t set up correctly can’t be done with Word Press Direct and must be done through the admin section in Word Press.
Word Press Direct is a system designed to use Word Press and make it more streamlined. It works as long as all you want to modify is the blog posts. But it is very slick in this area. The automatica content added to the site is what I am concerned with and it isn’t supposed to be used for the first two weeks the site is up and running. That is the main plus with WordPress Direct. The feeds to the blog are automatic and are selected by key words you enter.
So, if you know how to take off a widget that got posted in error through Market Samurai, then using Market Samurai and WordPress Direct as a team works like a dream. It just takes a little getting used to to get everythign up and running. I will say that it takes getting used to to set up the affiliate programs as well, but that is a separate posting.
WordPress and WordPress Direct are both WordPress. WordPress Direct just adds on a layer of customization that makes it easier to update a website with Market Samurai and with automatic content. The automatic content is the main plus because it helps the bots like your site and rank it higher so you will get more traffic and drive more people to see your ads.
